Hacken Women v Paris Saint-Germain Feminines
UEFA Women’s Champions League match at Bravida Arena, Gothenburg
TV: TNT Sports 1, 5:45pm
The draw
The UEFA Women’s Champions League has thrown up some intriguing quarter final matches and PSG away at Hacken could be a tight battle. PSG edged out Ajax to finish top of Group C and gain a slightly favourable draw. However, they were far from fluid in the group stages, particularly away from home, with just one win picked up on the road, as a draw at Bayern Munich sealed their knockout place. Hacken claimed second spot in Group D, in behind Chelsea, and mirrored PSG’s away points tally on home soil, with four from three games.
Both teams to score
With this game looking poised to be a close contest, both teams will be looking to get on the scoresheet, to prevent a negative heading into the second leg. PSG scored at least once in their final four group matches and Hacken scored in four from six overall in the first phase.
Brann Women v Barcelona Femenino
UEFA Women’s Champions League match at Åsane Arena, Bergen
TV: TNT Sports 1, 8:00pm
Barcelona to win
The reigning champions came through the group stages unbeaten with five wins and a draw from six matches to top Group A ahead of Benfica. Jonathan Giraldez’s team are cruising at the top of Liga F in Spain and they look well placed to scoop up yet more trophies in 2024. Brann relied on narrow home wins to get through the group stages with two single goal victories and a draw. That type of form will not faze the winning machine of Barcelona as they look to stretch their legs again in the Champions League.
Over 3.5 goals
Barcelona outscored every team in the group stages with a whopping 27 in six matches for the Catalans. That obviously included some pretty hefty wins for the holders and five of those six outings featured over 3.5 goals scored by Barcelona. They only eased off after securing a place in the knockouts, following 6-0 and 7-0 victories over Swedish side Rosengård, and the visitors could break the 3.5 goal barrier without assistance from Brann.
