Nations FC coach Stephen Frimpong Manso was left fuming after his side’s 1-0 defeat to Vision FC on Saturday, insisting his team deserved far more from the encounter.
Setsofia Aqetey’s first-half strike proved the difference at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex, handing the home side a vital win that lifted them out of the relegation zone. The teenage midfielder’s cool finish just before the break marked his first goal for Vision FC and sparked celebrations among the Tema-based side.
Despite the loss, Frimpong Manso refused to sugarcoat his team’s performance.
“We didn’t deserve to lose this game. We did a lot to at least secure a draw if not the three points. We created the chances but couldn’t convert them. We were punished for our wastefulness in front of goal. Truth to be told, we shouldn’t have lost this game,” he said.
The result ended Vision FC’s seven-match winless streak, while Nations FC’s woes away from home continued as they remain without an away victory this season. The defeat leaves them in 10th place, just a point above the drop zone, and with questions about their finishing in the final third.
Frimpong Manso’s side will look to bounce back when they host Karela United in their next Ghana Premier League clash, hoping to finally turn dominance on the pitch into points on the board.
