West African Football Academy (WAFA) coach Guillermo Zaragoza is highly optimistic of escaping relegation despite losing to Asante Kotoko on Saturday in the Ghana Premier League.
The Academy boys lost 1-0 to the league leaders on match week 27 at the RedBull Arena in Sogakope.
WAFA are currently 17th on the league table with with 26 points with seven matches left to play.
“We just have to keep going, we just have to make sure that in training we don’t relax,” coach Zaragoza said after the game.
“We are pushing to the maximum intensity everyday and we won’t drop the focus because at the end of the day I think these boys are young but they have great mentality.”
WAFA must at least win five out of their seven remaining games to beat the drop at the end of the season or/and hope Eleven Wonders, RTU, King Faisal and Accra Lions who are above them, keep dropping points.
WAFA will travel to Elmina to take on Sharks on match week 28 at the Nduom Stadium on Sunday, May 8.
