My focus is on a getting a chance to play for Ghana – Antoine Semenyo

Ghanaian international, Antoine Semenyo has stressed that he is focusing all his energy on making sure he gets a chance to play for the Black Stars.

Before the playoff tie of the Africa qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup against Nigeria, the Bristol City striker was handed an invitation.

Unfortunately, he suffered an injury and could not travel to honour the invitation in both matches of the two-legged tie.

Speaking to Accra-based Happy FM in an interview, Antoine Semenyo says he is yearning for another chance to play for Ghana although England has shown interest.

According to him, he is not deterred by reports of Black magic in the national team.

“England has come here and there but Ghana is where I belong.

“Those narratives [of black magic in the Black Stars] do not matter to me. I just want to play for Ghana and represent my home country,” the striker said.

According to sources, in-form Antoine Semenyo will be part of the Ghana squad that starts the qualifiers for the 2023 AFCON later this year.
