Former deputy minister for Youth and Sports, Vincent Oppong Asamoah wants the Ghana Football Association to name Chris Hughton as the new Black Stars head coach.
The senior national team coaching role is current vacant following the departure Otto Addo after the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
And the countries football governing body set to appoint a new trainer as the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers is on the horizon.
“Since we have decided to rely on foreign players for the Black Stars, then we don’t need a local coach,” Vincent told Akoma FM.
“I will opt for Chris Hughton, I believe he can do the job but should he also fail with the Black Stars, then the problem will be beyound coaching but rather with us as a country.” He concluded.
