A thunderbolt strike from Dominic Nsobila on Friday propelled Accra Lions FC to defeat Tamale City FC 1-0 in the Ghana Premier League.
The capital-based club hosted the Premier League newcomers at the Accra Sports Stadium to battle for the three points at stake.
In a game serving as a matchday three encounter of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season, Accra Lions dominated the early parts of the contest.
Just nine minutes into the first half, the hosts took the lead after Tamale City FC failed to clear their lines following a poorly-taken corner kick.
Midfielder Dominic Nsobila smashed a ferocious strike that flew into the back of the net of the visiting team.
Despite a strong effort from Tamale City FC in the second half, the team could not score and had to succumb to a narrow 1-0 defeat on the road.
Courtesy of the win, Accra Lions FC have climbed to fourth on the Ghana Premier League table.
A winless spell from the first three matches of the season means that Tamale City FC are bottom of the league table.
