Former Ghana defender Joseph Odoi has disclosed that former Kotoko attacker Opoku Afriyie delivered a hot slap to his cheek when Hearts of Oak beat Kotoko in a league game in Kumasi.
The tough-tackling defender says he applied the brakes on the Kotoko attacker when Hearts of Oak beat Kotoko in 1984.
Odoi, who played for Great Olympics, Hearts of Oak and Okwahu United during his active days, also revealed that his former teammate Ofei Ansah chased Opoku Afriyie to retaliate the slap.
“During a league game I was so tactful and diligent that I applied the brakes on Opoku Afriyie. I pocketed him and stopped him from scoring against Hearts of Oak. This left him angry and frustrated and he delivered a hot slap to my face and run away. However, Ofei Ansah wildly chased him to retaliate the slap,” he told Dan Kwaku Yeboah TV on YouTube.
