Arsenal and Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has rejected a move to Turkish giants Fenerbarche, Kickoffghana.com can exclusively report.
Partey, who has struggled with fitness issues which led to missing a chunk of Arsenal’s games last season as a result, is on the wishlist of new manager Jose Mourinho.
Despite making 14 Premier League appearances all season, Partey was an integral member of Mikel Arterta’s side at the tail end of the season, featuring in the last 6 games.
Arsenal, who fell short to eventual champions Manchester City on the final day of the season, brought in Declan rice last summer from West Ham United, as well as having Jorginho, who is sometimes deployed as a defensive midfielder – Partey’s role.
Although tempting – the prospect of working under Jose Mourinho- Partey has his immediate focus on the Black Stars and Arsenal, with a number of clubs queuing up with hefty sum for his ingenuity.
The allure of working under Mourinho ( a proven winner) fails to appeal to Partey, as the Portuguese gaffer persists in his bid to bring in marquee signings to help win a first league crown for the Turkish side since the 2013/14 season.
