Danish Superliga side Lyngby Boldklub have strengthened its offensive lineup with the signing of Ghanaian striker Malik Abubakari on a three-year contract.
Abubakari, formerly of Malmö FF, joins the club as a free agent and will don the number 9 jersey.
Football manager Nicas Kjeldsen expressed his enthusiasm for Abubakari’s addition.
“As a striker, Malik has a really exciting package. He can give us some of what we’ve been missing on the front line in terms of some speed and some deep runs that we’ve been missing a little bit.”
“It is not a one-on-one replacement for Andri, although Malik has some of the same ‘presence’ on the court. But Malik gives us a few more strings to play on and fits in well with our way of playing.”
“We are happy that we have succeeded in making an agreement with Malik and Malmö about a transfer, and look forward to seeing Malik with the Viking on his chest,” says Nicas Kjeldsen.
Abubakari’s career has taken him through several Portuguese clubs before joining Malmö FF in 2021.
During his time with the Swedish champions, he played 38 games, scoring 8 goals, and had loan stints with HJK Helsinki, Slovan Bratislava, and Viborg FF.
