Ghanaian duo Ibrahim Sadiq and Ernest Poku stole the show with a goal and an assist each in AZ Alkmaar’s 3-3 draw against Nijmegen in the Dutch Eredivisie on Sunday.
The pair delivered outstanding performances at the Goffert stadium, with Sadiq scoring in the 4th minute to give the visitors an early lead. However, Vito Van Crooij leveled the score in the 10th minute.
Poku restored AZ Alkmaar’s lead in the 32nd minute, giving them a 2-1 advantage at halftime.
The 21-year-old then assisted Troy Parrott in doubling the lead just a minute into the second half.
Nijmegen fought back, with Kento Shiogal scoring to reduce the deficit. Van Crooij completed his brace, leveling the score and earning the hosts a point.
This season, Poku has contributed to a goal and three assists in 16 appearances, while Sadiq has made 11 appearances, scoring six times and providing three assists in the ongoing Dutch Eredivisie season.
