Real Zaragoza to move clear of the relegation zone with a win over Malaga

On Saturday night, Real Zaragoza hosts Malaga at the Estadio de la Romareda as both teams search for potentially vital points at the bottom of the Spanish Segunda.

Los Manos are currently in 16th place in the Spanish second-tier table, just two points above the relegation zone. A 1-0 defeat at Alaves last time out in the Segunda means that Real Zaragoza has now lost three of their previous four games in the league.

The game also saw Fran Escriba’s team fail to score for the third time in four league matches.

Real Zaragoza’s lack of goals has led to nine of their last ten Segunda matches producing under 2.5 goals, including their last four matches in the Spanish second tier.

Their home form in the league has also been inconsistent of late, as a 2-0 home defeat by Andorra FC ended a four-game unbeaten run on home soil. However, they have also won just two of their previous seven home matches in the Segunda.

The visitors head into this clash bottom of the Segunda table, picking up just ten points from their opening 15 matches in the Spanish top-flight.

Pepe Mel’s team is winless in four league matches. However, a 1-1 home draw with Sporting Gijon last time out at least ended a three-game losing run.

Like their opponents, their recent Segunda matches have been low-scoring affairs, as there have been under 2.5 goals scored in seven of their previous nine league matches.

Malaga’s recent away form has been indicative of their league campaign, as the visitors have lost five of their last six games in the Spanish second tier.

What does Forebet predict?
