Prosper Narteh Ogum remains at post – Asante Kotoko IMC

The Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Asante Kotoko has publicly affirmed that head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum remains in his position, despite the team’s recent underwhelming performances in the Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors have encountered a rough patch, failing to secure a win in their last four GPL matches.

The unfortunate streak has seen the team slide from being contenders in the top four to holding the 9th position, 23 matches into the season.

According to media reports, Coach Ogum is under-fire and handed only three games to turn the team’s fortunes around or face dismissal. However, the IMC has moved swiftly to quell such speculations.

“Head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum remains at post, contrary to speculations about his imminent dismissal,” the statement opened.

“The IMC acknowledges the concerns raised by our cherished supporters regarding our current situation,” it continued.

“It must be placed on record that management is equally not enthused with our results and deem it unacceptable. However, the IMC is committed to ensuring that there is a quick turnaround in our current fortunes.”

The Committee is, therefore, urging fans and supporters “to remain calm and continue to support our club in these turbulent times”.

“We also thank you for all the concerns raised as well as your contributions, for which the IMC will give it the needed consideration.”

It called on all and sundry to have absolute trust in the coaches “to reclaim the stride with which we ended the first round”.

The club is currently 7th on the Ghana Premier League table with 32 points.
