The final round of matches in the season will be played simultaneously on Sunday May 27, the Premier League Board has confirmed.
The organizers of the country’s top flight league announced on Monday to have seven games played on Saturday so that Kotoko’s coronation match against Tema Youth will receive massive publicity.
But the same body has made a shocking u-turn in less than 48 hours to settle on the original plan of playing the final round of matches on the same, with matches kicking off at the same time.
The PLB said in a statement on Tuesday that Saturday’s African Women’s Championship qualifier between the Black Queens and their Cameroonian counterparts have altered their plans.
“But with the Black Queens playing Cameroon on Saturday in an African Women’s Championship qualifier in Accra, the GFA/PLB places a huge premium on the national team match,†the statement read
“We are of the view that the entire country must troop to the Ohene Djan Stadium on Saturday to rally behind the Black Queens to ensure success.
