The Public Relations Officer of Heart of Lions says the desire and commitment of the players and technical team contributed to their victory against Nsoatreman FC on Sunday.
The relegation-threatened side edged Nsoatreman FC 1-0 at the Kpando Sports Stadium in a Week 29 fixture of the Ghana Premier League.
Mustapha Yakubu scored the sole goal of the game in the 28th minute, securing three crucial points for the Volta Region-based team at home.
Despite the victory, the Lions remain second from the bottom in the league standings.
With only five matches remaining, the team controls its own destiny as it strives to maintain its status in the league or face relegation to the Division One League.
Speaking to Kickoffghana.com Eric said: “It was the desire and commitment by the player’s and the technical team in fact the Heart of Lions ecosystem needed that win to enhance our position in surviving the league. So we are happy we won, the feeling is great, the boys were proud of themselves,” he concluded.
Heart of Lions will travel to Dawu to face Dreams FC in a Week 30 fixture of the Ghana Premier League.
