Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has named Michael Essien as part of his all-time five a-side team.
Partey, who has long been likened to Michael Essien, has been inspirational for Arsenal in the ongoing season.
The midfielder has six goal contributions for Arsenal in 32 league games and has proved to be a key part of Arsenal’s team.
Partey’s absence was massively felt by Arsenal in their Champions League semi-finals first leg, where they lost 1-0 at home to PSG.
Arsenal eventually got knocked out by PSG after losing 3-1 on aggregate over two legs.
Speaking about his best five a-side- African players, Partey said:
“I’ll take Mendy as goalkeeper. At the back, I’ll take Samuel Osei Kuffour.”
In the middle, I’ll do Yaya Toure and [Michael] Essien. At the top I’ll go for Drogba,” he told Footy Culture.
Asked why he didn’t include himself Partey said: “Maybe one day, but now no.”
Arsenal are set to take on Premier League champions Liverpool this weekend as they look to consolidate a top four finish.
