Bibiani Gold Stars head coach, Stephen Frimpong Manso, has expressed satisfaction with his team’s approach to the game despite their 2-0 loss to Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday.
Frimpong-Manso, speaking in a postgame interview, highlighted the challenging travel schedule his team had endured in recent weeks as a contributing factor to their defeat.
Despite the loss, Frimpong-Manso remained adamant that the team’s approach was appropriate, attributing their setback to conceding a goal in the first half.
Emphasizing the need to adapt their strategy based on the opponent’s strengths, Frimpong-Manso explained, “They have ball jugglers, technical players so we also had to have more midfielders in the game. If we had played two attackers, we would have had lesser numbers in the midfield.
“At home, it would be okay but away, against such a team who are very comfortable, it’s not advisable. The approach I think we started well; it’s just that we conceded a goal in the first half.”
