Board member of Hearts of Oak Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has stated that Kwesi Nyantakyi could have become FIFA’s first black president if not for the Anas exposé in 2018.
Nyantakyi, a former Ghana Football Association president and FIFA/CAF official, was implicated in the “Number 12” investigative piece, which exposed corruption in Ghanaian football.
The exposé showed Nyantakyi allegedly accepting a $65,000 bribe, leading to his resignation and ban from the World governing body.
“Nyantakyi would have been the first black man to head FIFA if the Anas exposé hadn’t happened,” Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe told Starr FM.
Nyantakyi was was the president of the Ghana Football Association for 13 years and CAF’s first Vice-President in 2017.
