Midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has resumed training with Anderlecht as he fully recovers from a hamstring injury sustained during the just concluded 2023/24 season.
The Black Stars midfielder experienced another challenging season with Belgian outfit Anderlecht, with injuries restricting him to only nine appearances.
His injury troubles began with a muscle injury during the Africa Cup of Nations tournament, followed by a leg injury mid-season, and culminated in a hamstring injury.
The former Red Bull Salzburg midfielder is working on gaining full fitness ahead of the 2024/25 football season.
Ashimeru missed Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic due to injury setbacks.
The 27-year-old midfielder is expected to return to coach Otto Addo’s Black Stars squad ahead of the AFCON qualifiers in September and the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which resume in March 2025.
