Medeama won’t have sacked me if I met Kwasi Appiah earlier – Ignatius Osei-Fosu

Ignatius Osei-Fosu, the assistant coach of the Sudanese national team, has emphasized that Medeama SC would not have dismissed him had he connected with former Ghana coach James Kwasi Appiah earlier.

Osei-Fosu, previously in charge of Dreams FC and King Faisal, expressed that his understanding of coaching has significantly improved since meeting and currently collaborating with Appiah in his role as the assistant for the Secretarybirds.

The coach faced dismissal from his positions at Medeama and Dreams FC after just three matches in the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League season, where he failed to secure a victory at Medeama.

In an interview with Pure Sports, Osei-Fosu conveyed, “I told the President of Medeama, Moses Parker, that if I had met Kwesi Appiah before joining your club, you wouldn’t have sacked me. I have learned a lot from that man.”

Notably, former Black Stars goalkeeper Fatau Dauda is also contributing to the Sudan national team as the goalkeeper’s trainer under Appiah’s guidance.

Under Appiah’s leadership, the Sudanese national team has achieved one win and a draw in their initial two 2026 World Cup qualifying games.
