Medeama chief James Essilfie has asked the team’s fans to show patience as they build a team to compete for the Premier League crown this season.
The Mauves and Yellows were held to a 1-1 draw by Bechem United in the second week of the Ghana Premier League in front of its home fans last weekend.
The slip followed their goalless draw against regional rivals Sekondi Hasaacas in their opener.
The fans of the Tarkwa-based side are growing impatient with the poor streak of results but the club’s Chief Executive, James Essilfie, has called for calm.
“I can understand the impatience of Medeama fans but we need time,†Essilfie said
“We have a good coach and quality players. It’s just a matter of time before we start getting the results we all require.
“Management is concerned about the latest development but we should not throw our hands in despair. It’s too early in the day to start panicking and talk about sacking a coach.
“Our objective is to make fans happy but they should have faith in us. We need to show some patience. I believe that Medeama would be one of the best team in the season,†he added.
Medeama is scheduled to face Berekum Chelsea on Sunday at the Golden City Park.
