McDan Group CEO, Daniel McKorley, has expressed his hesitation to sponsor the Ghana Premier League due to the concerns of gambling.
In a recent interview with Asempa FM, McKorley reiterated his commitment to supporting Ghanaian football but emphasized the need to address the gambling issue first.
“I would have been delighted to sponsor the Ghana Premier League, but the excessive gambling involved is a significant concern for me,” McKorley stated.
“This is a major reason why our players are not progressing. We need to reform Ghana football and create a more positive environment for the sport to flourish.”
The Ghana Premier League is currently without a title sponsor after Betpawa withdrew their support last season.
The new season is set to kick-off on September 6.
