Ghanaian defender Patric Pfeiffer has completed a loan move to Swiss top-flight club BSC Young Boys from German Bundesliga side FC Augsburg ahead of the new season.
The move aims to provide Pfeiffer with more playing time at the Stadion Wankdorf after struggling to secure a regular starting spot.
His contract with Augsburg is set to expire in the summer of 2027.
“Following an open and constructive dialogue with those in charge, I’m convinced that this is the best option to continue my development,” the 24-year-old said.
“It’s a great opportunity to gather important minutes for a strong team like Young Boys.”
Young Boys said it is “confident that Pfeiffer, with his personality and defensive qualities, will provide valuable contributions to the team”.
He is expected to play a huge role for Young Boys in the 2024/25 football campaign.
Pfeiffer, who switched allegiance to represent Ghana in 2022 and recently obtained his Ghanaian passport, is yet to make his debut for the Black Stars.
