Match Report: Medeama SC suffer heavy defeat away at CR Belouizdad

Ghanaian outfit, Medeama Sporting Club lost 3-0 to Algerian side CR Belouizdad on Friday, March 1.

The two clubs locked horns today in Algiers in their final Group D fixture of this season’s CAF Champions League.

Although Medeama SC set up strong and players fought to get a win, the strength and quality could not match that of the players of CR Belouizdad.

In the first half, the hosts needed just 27 minutes to take the lead through a strike from Abdelraouf Benguit.

Later in the 42nd minute, Leonel Wamba also equalised to double the lead for CR Belouizdad.

After recess, CR Belouizdad continued to dominate the game and scored a third goal in the 84th minute when Lamin Jallow also got his name on the scoresheet.

That goal sealed the hammering as Medeama SC suffered a heavy defeat away from home.

The result means the Ghana Premier League champions have been knocked out of this season’s CAF Champions League.
