Match Report: Asante Kotoko thrash lower-tier side Asekem FC 5-1

Ghanaian giants, Asante Kotoko played a friendly match against lower division side Asekem FC on Wednesday afternoon.

At the end of the exercise, the Porcupine Warriors made light work of the opponent and recorded a massive 5-1 win.

There were goals from Boateng, Shadrach, Dwamena, and Dickson Afoakwa who bagged a brace.

Today’s friendly match forms part of Asante Kotoko’s preparations for the resumption of the Ghana Premier League season.

The 2022/23 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign is scheduled to return a day after the final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Asante Kotoko will immediately get to work when the side takes on Berekum Chelsea on Wednesday, December 21.

The Porcupine Warriors are third on the league standings and will be hoping for a win to climb higher on the log.
