Abdul Fatawu Issahaku will be celebrated later this month in Leicester, where his emotional recovery from injury takes centre stage in a new documentary titled Abdul Fatawu: Back Stronger.
The one-hour film, set to premiere at the Weller Lounge inside King Power Stadium on Wednesday, 29 October, tells the inspiring story of the 21-year-old winger’s battle back from a serious ACL injury sustained during the 2024/25 season.
The documentary offers an intimate look into Fatawu’s life both on and off the pitch, from painful rehab sessions and first touches back on the grass, to his summer trip home to Ghana, where he reconnected with his childhood club and organised a community tournament for young players in his hometown.
Fatawu will be present at the Leicester premiere for a live Q&A session, giving fans a chance to hear first-hand how faith, family, and determination kept him going through the difficult months of recovery.
The talented winger has since returned to full fitness and form, earning a recall to the Black Stars.
He featured in Ghana’s 5–0 victory over the Central African Republic, marking a strong comeback to international football.
Fatawu is also expected to play a part when Ghana face Comoros on Sunday in their final World Cup qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium.
