Ex-Ghana defender Sam Johnson does not expect the dismissal of Kwesi Appiah to affect the ambitions of the Black Stars.
Appiah was relieved of his duties two weeks ago just a day after he had led the team to beat Togo 3-2 in Lome in a 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
He spent 29 months in-charge including qualifying and leading the team at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
The Ghana Football Association is expected to name his successor before the double AFCON qualifiers all against Guinea next month.
Johnson believes the team can pick themselves up against and become a force on the continent.
“Kwesi Appiah himself knew he was not going to be the coach of the Black Stars forever,†the former Anderlecht star told GHANASoccernet.com
“Coaches will come and coaches will go but the most important thing is the continual progress of the team.
“As professionals as the players are, I am sure they will put this behind them with the backing of the FA to get back on track.
“One of the things that makes football beautiful is the unpredictability of the game and this is just part.â€
