Sudan’s national team began their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign under the guidance of head coach Kwesi Appiah with a win against Niger on Wednesday.
A 1-0 victory courtesy of Abobaker Mamoun Eisa’s 51st minute goal, propelled Sudan to the top of Group F.
This win not only increases Sudan’s hopes of qualifying for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco but also highlights Appiah’s positive impact on the team.
Since the former Ghana international took over, he is yet to taste defeat in competitive matches, with four wins and one draw in his last five games.
Sudan, currently top Group F with three points, will face Angola in their next fixture.
