Kudus returns from injury as Karikari hits hat-trick abroad

Ghana forward Mohammed Kudus made his return from injury for Tottenham, while Kwaku Karikari came off the bench to score a hat-trick and provide an assist as Ghanaian players produced a series of notable performances overseas over the weekend.

Kudus featured as Tottenham suffered a 2-0 home defeat by Newcastle United. In Serbia, Karikari made a decisive impact for Zeleznicar Pancevo, scoring three times after entering the game as a substitute and also setting up a goal in a 5-1 victory over Radnik.

Joseph Opoku scored his second goal for Swansea City in their 3-0 Championship win against Derby County at Pride Park on Saturday. Samuel Owusu was also on target for Maccabi Petah Tikva, who beat Sakhnin 2-1 in the Israeli top flight.

England

In the Premier League, Antoine Semenyo played the full match for Manchester City in their 4-1 win over Crystal Palace.

Caleb Yirenkyi and Brandon Thomas-Asante were involved as Coventry City lost 1-0 to Hull City. Fatawu Issahaku supplied an assist for Ipswich Town in their 5-2 defeat by Manchester United at Old Trafford.

In the Championship, Tariq Lamptey made an immediate contribution as Queens Park Rangers recovered from behind to defeat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at Ewood Park. Kwame Poku came on as a substitute for QPR.

Andy Yiadom played for AFC Wimbledon in their 1-0 victory over Wigan.

Spain, France and Germany

In Spain, Inaki Williams provided an assist as Athletic Club claimed their first win of the 2026/27 La Liga campaign, beating Celta Vigo 2-0 away on Sunday night.

Nathaniel Adjei played for Lorient in their 2-1 Ligue 1 defeat by Troyes, while Ernest Nuamah completed 80 minutes for Lyon in a 1-1 draw with Le Havre.

In the Bundesliga, Ransford Konigsdorffer played 22 minutes for Mainz in their draw with Paderborn. Gideon Mensah made his debut for FC Koln during their 3-2 victory over Hoffenheim.

Patrick Pfeiffer played the full match for Darmstadt, who lost 1-0 to Hannover in Bundesliga II.

North America

Prince Owusu featured for CF Montreal in their 7-1 defeat by Inter Miami. Ronald Donkor and Mohammed Sofo both played in New York Red Bulls’ 3-1 loss to Philadelphia Union, with Ezekiel Alladoh involved for Philadelphia.

Maxwell Woledzi played for Nashville in their 4-0 win over FC Cincinnati. Kwaku Agyabeng was involved in Sporting Kansas City’s 3-0 defeat by Vancouver Whitecaps.

Manu Duah completed 90 minutes for San Diego in their 3-1 victory over Los Angeles Galaxy, for whom Joseph Paintsil also played the full match.

Europe

In Albania, Randy Dwumfour played 90 minutes for Vllaznia in a 1-1 draw with AF Elbasani. Emmanuel Agyemang played 18 minutes for Wolfsberger AC in a match that ended in a draw.

Edmund Baidoo and Kelvin Boateng each played 26 minutes in Austria Salzburg’s 4-1 win over Austria Vienna, with Boateng featuring for the losing side.

Lawrence Agyekum played 28 minutes for Cercle Brugge in their 1-0 Jupiler Pro League defeat by Lommel SK. Luis Narh featured for Antwerp in a 4-1 loss to St. Truiden.

In China, Yaw Yeboah played for Qingdao Hainiu in their 5-1 defeat by Wuhan Three Towns. Abdul-Azis Yakubu played 24 minutes for Qingdao West Coast in a 1-1 draw with Tianjin Jinmen Tiger.

Frank Acheampong was involved in Dalian Yingbo’s 1-1 draw with Beijing Guoan, while Prince Obeng Ampem played for Shanghai Port in their 1-0 win against Shenzhen Xinpengcheng.

Alex Sarfo featured for Aris in a 2-2 draw with Apollon in Cyprus. Braydon Marvin Manu played for Nea Salamis in their 3-3 draw against Ol Nicosia, while Clifford Aboagye was involved in Anorthosis’ 2-0 defeat by AEL Limassol.

Abdul Moro played for Horsens in their 3-2 loss to Viborg in Denmark. Prince Amoako and Stephan Acquah were both involved in FC Nordsjaelland’s 3-1 win over Brøndby.

Enock Otoo scored for Levadia in their 3-2 victory over Kalju in Estonia. Abdul Baba Rahman featured for PAOK in their 2-1 win against Atromitos in Greece.
