Kpando Park to undergo renovation ahead of 2023/24 season

President of Kpando Heart of Lions Randy Abbey, has confirmed that discussions are underway with the National Sports Authority (NSA) to renovate the Kpando Park ahead of the club’s return to the Ghana Premier League next season.

The facility, which will be the team’s home ground, currently lacks essential features required to pass the Ghana Football Association (GFA) club licensing venue inspection.

Acknowledging the shortcomings of the Kpando Park, Abbey expressed optimism about reaching a favorable agreement with the NSA to initiate the much-needed renovation project within the limited timeframe available.

He emphasized the importance of upgrading the venue to meet the standards necessary for a Premiership venue.

“We are in talks with the National Sports Authority (NSA), and we have reached some meaningful agreement,” said Abbey.

“We are hopeful that, although it’s a short period, we will be able to do what is necessary to ensure that this place remains a Premiership venue,” he added.

The renovation project aims to address the deficiencies at the Kpando Park and enhance its infrastructure, including the installation of seating areas to meet the requirements set by the GFA club licensing regulations.
