Kotoko to appoint this ex-Liverpool ‘coach’ as technical director —

Published: 4 years ago

Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko are set to name former Liverpool academy coach Gerard Nus as the club’s new Technical Director, according to multiple reports in the West African nation.

Though Nus is currently the assistant manager for Greece, there are strong reports linking him to Asante Kotoko with several individuals mentioning his name on Twitter.

However, one great thing about the Nana Yaw Amponsah-led Kotoko management is that they have managed to keep a large proportion of their business away from the public until they feel the time is right to make official announcement. In short, they are able to stop spills and block leakages.

It is unclear whether Nus, who worked as an assistant trainer to Avram Grant during his spell as Ghana coach, would vacate his post with El Piratiko to take over the vacant position in Kumasi.

He is familiar with the Ghanaian terrain having spent 3 years – between 2014 and 2017 working in Ghana, though intermittently.

Nus served in the capacity of a technical director at Spanish side Rayo Vallecano from 2016 to 2017.
