Ghanaian defender Kojo Oppong Peprah has expressed his delight after helping OGC Nice secure a hard-fought 3–2 victory over Olympique Lyon in the French Ligue 1.
The 21-year-old, who featured for the full 90 minutes, put in a commanding display at the back as Nice edged Lyon in a dramatic Round 8 encounter at the Allianz Riviera on Saturday.
Taking to Instagram after the match, Peprah shared his excitement, writing: “Three points, great team performance.” His words reflected the unity and fighting spirit that carried the team through a tense contest.
Nice made a strong start when Melvin Bard struck early to give the home side the lead, but Lyon responded in the 29th minute through Pavel Sulc. Sofiane Diop restored Nice’s advantage just six minutes later, ensuring they went into the break ahead.
After halftime, Hicham Boudaoui extended the lead with a fine finish, effectively sealing the win before Sulc grabbed a late consolation for Lyon deep into stoppage time.
Peprah’s consistency and composure have been key for Nice this season.
Since joining the Ligue 1 side, he has featured in eight league games and found the net once.
