The undisputed Ghana number one arrived in South Africa on Friday afternoon and headed straight into light training as the rest of his colleagues mauled two local lower division sides in a training match.

Kingson should be in full training for Saturday’s full session and is most likely going to play in Tuesday’s international friendly against Malawi.

The England-based goalkeeper was supposed to arrive on the same flight with John Paintsil, John Mensah and Michael Essien, but injury has ruled out the first two and delayed the arrival of Essien.

“The injuries have been unfortunate, but we have to carry on. In the current situation some of will have to play really big roles because of our experience at this level and I am happy to do that,” he tells KickOffGhana.com.

The Angola tournament will be Kingson’s fifth appearance at the Nations Cup, but only the second when he will be the regular goalkeeper.
