Youngster Kamaldeen Sulemana has missed out on the final three nominees for the CAF Young Player Of The Year Award.
The winger lost the final three spots to Hannibal Mejbri (Tunisia & Manchester United), Karim Konate (Cote d’Ivoire & ASEC/RB Salzburg) and Pape Matar Sarr (Senegal & Tottenham Hotspur).
Sulemana made the final 10 players nominated, a week ago, for the coveted award but his chances of claiming it has fizzled away.
The 20-year-old joined Stade Rennes last summer for 20million and has been instrumental for the club.
He made 20 appearances, scoring four goals and providing two assists last season.
Sulemana was in Ghana’s squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, his first senior tournament with the national team.
This year’s CAF Awards will be held on Thursday, 21 July 2022 in Morocco.
