Former Asante Kotoko and Black Stars midfielder Yussif Chibsah has made a passionate appeal to President John Dramani Mahama to prioritize the rehabilitation of the Sunyani Sports Stadium.
Chibsah’s call comes on the back of his participation in the maiden Sunyani Unity Festival, organized by Member of Parliament for Sunyani East, Hon. Seidu Mubarak.
The tournament, which brought together several communities in the Bono Region, also saw the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, grace the event as a special guest and present trophies to winners of the Community Gala.
“Sunyani is a notable region as far as football is concerned,” Chibsah said.
“We have had great national team players emerge and continue to emerge from this region.”
Chibsah, who remains active in football development initiatives, believes the move will not only uplift sports in the region but also open doors for greater national impact.
