Sparta Prague’s interim sporting director, Tomáš Sivok has spoken glowingly on Ghanaian defender Ivan Anokye Mensah’s potential after securing him on a permanent deal.
The 21-year-old will play for Sparta’s B team, following a standout season with Dukla Banská Bystrica in Slovakia.
Mensah’s impressive performances with 28 appearances and two goals in the 2024/25 season, caught Sparta Prague’s attention.
“Ivan is a right-footed, fast central defender. He’s tall, strong in duels, and fits our style of play,” Sivok said.
“We believe he has the qualities to grow within our system. Starting with the B team will help him settle in and adapt to the demands of the club.”
The Czech club sees Mensah as a perfect fit for their development plans.
Sparta Prague believes Mensah’s talent will thrive under their guidance.
With this new signing, Mensah is poised to take his career to the next level.
