Italian side U.S. Salernitana 1919 announce the signing of veteran Jerome Boateng

Italian Serie A outfit, U.S. Salernitana 1919 have strengthened their squad with the signing of former Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng.

The club announced the arrival of the Germany-born Ghanaian defender on Friday, February 2.

Jerome Boateng, 35, has joined the Italian club after last playing for French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon.

In a post on X, U.S. Salernitana 1919 said, “Welcome Jerome Boateng.”

Speaking on his move in a post on X, Jerome Boateng expressed his excitement, insisting that it will be a joy to play for the great club and its passionate fans.

“Ciao Salerno! Happy to be here, playing for this great club and its passionate fans. Grateful for the opportunity to represent this beautiful city and region.

“I’m very excited to continue my career here and contribute to the success of the club. I’ll give my all to achieve our goals. Forza Salernitana,” Jerome Boateng said.
