Ghana midfielder Michael Agbekpornu has joined Raja Casablanca from Spanish club SD Huesca on a free transfer, beginning a new chapter in Morocco’s Botola Pro Inwi. The 27-year-old central midfielder has signed a contract with Raja that runs until 30 June 2029.
Agbekpornu’s move was completed on 22 August 2026, ending his spell with Huesca after less than seven months. He arrived at the Spanish club from Croatian side Slaven Belupo on 2 February 2026 in a deal worth €150,000.
The transfer to Raja takes Agbekpornu into a new league after a career that has included football in Spain, Croatia, Albania and Ghana. He made 10 appearances in LaLiga2 during his time in Spain, having previously played 63 times in Croatia’s SuperSport HNL and 49 times in Albania’s Kategoria Superiore.
His Croatian record includes one goal and seven assists, while he scored once and provided one assist in Albania’s top flight. Agbekpornu also made 12 appearances in the Albanian Cup and featured in six Croatian Cup matches.
The midfielder joined Slaven Belupo from Albanian club KF Egnatia in July 2023 for €150,000. During his time with Egnatia, he was part of the side that won the Albanian Cup in the 2022-23 season.
Before moving to Europe, Agbekpornu played for Ghanaian club Dreams FC, joining them as a free agent in December 2018. He later left Dreams for Egnatia on a free transfer in July 2021, establishing the route that took him into European football.
Raja have secured the services of a right-footed midfielder who stands 1.88m tall and has experience across several European competitions. His arrival adds another chapter to a career that has moved through four countries before his switch to Casablanca.
Agbekpornu is now a Raja Casablanca player on a free transfer from SD Huesca, with his new contract lasting until June 2029.
