Ghana head coach, Otto Addo has admitted that it will be tough for him to select his starting eleven for the game against Portugal in the 2022 FIFA World Cup next week.
On Thursday, the gaffer and his assistants watched on in delight as the Black Stars outplayed and defeated Switzerland 2-0 at the end of a friendly match played in Abu Dhabi.
In that game, Coach Otto Addo handed chances to new players in the team and rested key players including Alexander Djiku, Thomas Partey, and Mohammed Kudus.
After indicating that the performance of the new players was very good, the coach says he is now sure that it won’t be easy for him to choose the team that will face Portugal next week.
“Just as everyone else does, we have a good 26man squad, everybody showed what he can today and I am happy for that. I am happy that we have quite an equal squad and it will not be easy for me as a Coach to choose who will play against Portugal but this is how I wanted. It’s better than having eleven players and then afterwards what comes is not so good,” Coach Otto Addo said after the game against Switzerland.
The Ghana coach added, “I think everybody saw that we have a well-balanced team, a lot of possibilities. This kind of tournament its very, very important to have 26 reliable players and I think a lot of the players showed today that we can count on them.”
The first Ghana game at the 2022 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to be played on Thursday, November 24.
