Striker Abdul Fatawu Safiu says his is exited to sign for Asante Kotoko after completing his return to the Ghanaian giants on Monday.
T The 26-year-old, a popular figure among Kotoko fans, officially signed a two-year contract, extending his commitment to the club until January 2026.
Safiu, named the best player and top scorer of the NC’s special competition in 2019, is back with the Ghanaian giants following spells with Trelleborgs FF and FC Trollhättan in Sweden.
In a statement following the announcement of his signing, Safiu expressed his delight on the club’s official website, saying, “I am very excited about this opportunity,” he said.
“Everyone knows Kotoko is the club that I support and as a youngster it was my dream to play for Kotoko and to get that opportunity twice makes me feel lucky and ready to do everything to help the team.”
The striker, who made a significant impact during the 2018-2019 season with 13 goals in sixteen appearances, including standout performances in the CAF Confederation Cup, aims to contribute to Coach Prosper Narteh’s vision of securing a return to the CAF Champions League.
