Former Ghana coach Charles Akonnor is confident about the Black Stars’ chances of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) despite a rocky start to their campaign.
With only one point from their first two games, Ghana currently sit third in Group F .
However, Akonnor still expresses optimism in the Black Stars despite the dismal start.
“Qualifying should not be a problem. I will be surprised if they don’t qualify, but we have to do well when we play in the competition proper,” Akonnor stated to Graphic Sports.
The Black Stars face a crucial doubleheader against Sudan, with the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 10 and the return leg on October 14 at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya.
