Former Hearts of Oak Chief Executive Officer, Harry Zakour has taken a strong swipe at the club’s board for their managerial style.
Zakour, who is now a politician guided Hearts of Oak to win their first continental title in 2000 says “there is no spirit in the club” because the current administration has been ‘toying’ with the club.
Zakour’s latest outburst comes following Gerald Ankrah’s resignation as Managing Director of the club after less than two years in office.
“I had a call last night that said Gerald Ankrah has resigned and I was surprised. Surprised because he is a good person and I think he could have done the job,” Harry Zakkour told Accra-based Class FM
“The club is looking like a toy. There is no spirit in the club”.
Reports suggest that Vincent Sowah Odotei will be named as Ankrah’s successor but the former CEO opined that the inconsistency at the managerial department is negatively affecting the club.
“During my time in office, we never changed anybody… most people in the club have left….”
“The Board of Directors is doing what it wants Togbe Afede thinks we don’t like him. We like him, but he has to listen. He has to take advice from people. There is a difference between football administration and business administration,” he added.
Zakour has been a great critic of the current administration since the floatation of shares five years ago.
