Bibiani Goldstars believe their latest win underlines their strong push for the Ghana Premier League crown.
The defending champions edged Accra Hearts of Oak 2-1 in their Matchweek 24 encounter to secure a historic result.
It marked their first victory over the Phobians since gaining promotion to the top flight.
The triumph keeps Goldstars in second place, just one point behind league leaders Medeama SC.
Deputy Communications and Administrative Manager Joseph Oti Manu described the performance as a defining moment for the club.
“It was a good weekend for us… it was a good game. The two teams played very well but let me congratulate Bibiani Goldstars for the massive win,” he said in an interview with Citi Sports.
He noted that previous home meetings against Hearts often ended in stalemates.
“Playing in Bibiani against Hearts usually ends in a draw, but we did everything right from management level and the fans were really ready.”
Oti Manu insisted the result reflects the team’s growing belief and preparation.
“It tells you how ready and how serious we are. We are left with 10 games to end the season and we believe we are taking it game after game and we will see what happens in the next few months,” he said.
