Chief Executive Officer of Bibiani GoldStars, Akwasi Adu, has made a strong case for defender Vincent Atinga’s inclusion in the Black Stars, following his instrumental role in the club’s historic Ghana Premier League title win.
Atinga, who joined GoldStars ahead of the 2024/25 season, featured in 18 matches under head coach Frimpong Manso and was a pillar of consistency and leadership in defence. His efforts helped guide the club to its first-ever top-flight title.
Speaking to Sporty FM, Adu praised the 30-year-old’s professionalism and impact both on and off the pitch.
“In my opinion, Vincent Atinga should be part of the Black Stars,” Adu said. “Not many players in the national team play as well as he does.”
“Since joining GoldStars, he hasn’t missed a single training session. He’s always punctual, always professional. Every team needs someone with that level of discipline and commitment. He’s had a massive influence on the young players.”
Despite already having seven caps and two goals with the Black Galaxies, Atinga has yet to feature for the senior national team.
However, his domestic record continues to speak volumes. This title marks his second Ghana Premier League triumph in three seasons, after helping Medeama SC win their first league crown in 2022/23.
With experience, discipline, and a winner’s mentality, Atinga’s name may soon become harder to overlook in conversations about the Black Stars’ defensive future.
