Ghana striker Mathew Amoah believes he still has the drive and energy to continue playing at the top level despite suffering a series of injuries in recent times.
The 33-year-old has made just three starts for Heracles Almelo this season mainly due to recurring muscular injuries.
The ex Borussia Dortmund man scored on his return to first team action in the weekend’s 2-1 win over NEC.
And the Black Stars striker believes he still has what it takes to remain relevant as a professional despite suffering the injuries.
“Of course, I have had an injury. But this season, the trainer makes the choices. I can only show that I can play football well,†Amoah told Elfvoetball.
“We just have to prepare and look at the next game.
“We’ve never really looked down. We just wanted to look up, and we will continue to do that.â€
Amoah has scored just two goals in the Ducth top flight – owing his lowered scoring rate to injury following an impressive scoring record during the pre-season.
