Ghana-eligible striker Malik Pimpong has scored for Eintracht Frankfurt U21 just days after making his official first-team debut for the German Bundesliga club.

The 18-year-old made a late appearance in Eintracht Frankfurt’s emphatic DFB-Pokal victory over St. Tonis, marking his first senior outing since joining the club from Danish champions FC Midtjylland this summer.

Pimpong then continued his encouraging start in Germany by finding the net for the club’s U21 side. The sequence of appearances has underlined the progress expected of a forward who became one of the most prolific young strikers in Danish football last season.

Eintracht Frankfurt secured Pimpong’s services on a six-year contract that runs until June 2031. The move followed an impressive two-year spell with FC Midtjylland’s U19 team, where he scored 30 goals and provided one assist in 46 appearances.

His most productive campaign came in 2025/26, when he registered 20 goals in 26 matches. That return made him the leading scorer in the Danish U19 Drenge Ligaen.

Pimpong also gained experience in European football during his time with FC Midtjylland. He featured in the UEFA Youth League and was included in the club’s Europa League squad, adding to his development before the move to Frankfurt.

Although he was born to a Ghanaian father and remains eligible to play for the Black Stars, Pimpong has represented Denmark at under-17, under-18 and under-19 level. He has made 24 appearances for Denmark’s youth teams, scoring 12 goals.

His international future therefore remains open, as he continues to build his club career in Germany. For now, his immediate focus is on adapting to the demands of Eintracht Frankfurt and progressing through the club’s pathway from youth football to the senior team.

Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Timmo Hardung has urged patience in handling the teenager’s development. The club is managing Pimpong’s progress carefully as he adjusts to a new league, a different footballing environment and the demands of senior competition.

Pimpong’s first-team debut and subsequent goal for Eintracht Frankfurt U21 represent an encouraging beginning. Having already demonstrated his scoring ability at youth level, the striker will now hope to establish himself in German football and earn further opportunities with the senior side.
