Ghana defender Schlupp gets start in Crystal Palace clash with Watford

Ghana defender Jeffery Schlupp is getting a rare start for Crystal Palace on Saturday after they made one enforced change for visit of Watford in the English Premier League.

Palace boss Sam Allardyce was forced to change his side for the home match with Watford this afternoon (Saturday).

With former Chelsea and Sunderland left-back Patrick van Aanholt missing out through injury, former Leicester City man Schlupp comes into the Eagles side for the visit of the Hornets.

Allardyce has otherwise kept faith with the same team that has won back-to-back games at home against Middlesbrough and away at West Bromwich Albion, with Mamadou Sakho and James Tomkins continuing at the heart of the defence, and club captain Scott Dann on the bench again.

There is, however, no James McArthur in the matchday squad, with the Scottish midfielder not included in the 18, despite being called up for international duty next week.

Croydon-born midfielder Jason Puncheon will skipper the side once again.

Watford, meanwhile, make two changes for the game, with Daryl Janmaat and Craig Cathcart coming into the team.

Palace: Hennessey, Schlupp, Sakho, Tomkins, Ward, Milivojevic, Cabaye, Puncheon, Townsend, Zaha, Benteke.

Subs: Speroni, Dann, Delaney, Kelly, Lee, Sako, Campbell.

Watford: Gomes, Cathcart, Kaboul, Britos, Prodl, Janmaat, Behrami, Cleverley, Capoue, Niang, Deeney,

Subs: Pantilmon, Holebas, Zuniga, Doucoure, Amrabat, Success, Okaka.
