Ghana defender Alhassan hails decision to join Serie-B side Novara

Ghana defender Massawudu Alhassan says his decision to drop to a lower division club has impacted positively on his career.

The 19-year-old joined Italian Serie-B side Novara on loan from Genoa this summer.

The decision to drop from a Serie-A club to a second tier side was in order to see frequent first team action which Alhassan found very difficult to come by at Genoa.

His club inactivity at Genoa even cost him his place with the Ghana national team where he has failed to get into the side for recent national assignments.

The left-back is now on his way to rediscovering his form after getting a string of games since the start of the season and has capped his improved performance so far with a splendid goal.

He has thus hailed his decision to join Novara as he is now enjoying regular first team action in Serie-B.

“It is (move to Novara) the best decision for my career,” he told Radio XYZ.

“At Genoa I was always trying to get into the first eleven and it was very difficult.
