Inter Milan defeated Barcelona 1-0 on Champions League matchday No. 3 thanks to a first-half goal from Hakan Calhanoglu. Barcelona had chances in the second half but couldn’t level the game.
Robert Lewandowski once again struggled for Barcelona in the final third leading some onlookers to wonder if the Polish striker can lead the Blaugrana in Europe.

The win was hugely significant for Inter Milan. Coach Simone Inzaghi was under pressure, but it looks to be relieved for now.
Since 2018, Barcelona and Inter Milan have met five times with the former posting a 3W-1D-1L record. The Nerazzurri go to Camp Nou having failed to win their last two matches at the famed Spanish stadium.
Barcelona have not lost at home this season and have a record of 4W-1D-0L at home. They conceded a mere one goal in five home games this season while scoring 13 times. Inter Milan will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday night.
Inter Milan go into the Champions League matchday No. 4 fixture following a 2-1 win against Sassuolo in Serie A. The Nerazzurri have a 3W-0D-3L record on the road this season, with 10 goals scored and 11 allowed.
Barcelona rebounded from their defeat to Inter Milan with a 1-0 home win against Celta Vigo. The Blaugrana scored just two goals in their last three games in all competitions. Xavi must find a way to unlock the team’s attack.
Xavi could be without several key players for Inter’s arrival. Franck Kessie is a doubt due to a muscle injury and Andreas Christensen could miss the match as well following an ankle injury.
Defenders Hector Bellerin and Ronaldo Araujo are both set to miss the game due to injuries. Memphis Depay is a major doubt with a hamstring problem, and defender Jules Kounde is unlikely to play due to a hamstring strain.
Inzaghi will have a mostly clean bill of health. However, forward Joaquin Correa is out with a knee injury and won’t return until November. Midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is a doubt with a hamstring strain.
Inzaghi made one key change for the reverse fixture and that was starting Andre Onana in goal rather than Samir Handanovic. Onana played against Sassuolo as well, helping Inter to a 2-1 win. Onana should start in goal against the club he spent his youth with.
Barcelona play well at Camp Nou, while Inter are struggling on the road. The Blaugrana should rebound from their 1-0 loss a week ago with a win, and the match should finish with under 1.5 goals as Barcelona claim a win to nil.
