Nsoatreman FC have officially withdrawn from the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League, following concerns over the security and safety of their players.
Their decision comes in the wake of tensions following the tragic death of Kotoko fan Francis Frimpong Pooley, who was fatally stabbed during Kotoko’s match against Nsoatreman on February 2.
According to reports, some aggrieved supporters are planning retaliation following an alleged attack by unidentified individuals in Kukuom, Ahafo Region, on Monday while traveling to play Samartex at Bibiani Duns Park.
In a statement, the Nsoatre-based club said they were “forced to take this decision” to protect their players.
