Abdul Fatawu Issahaku continued his impressive return from injury with a stunning goal as Leicester City defeated Swansea City 3-1 in the English Championship on Saturday.
The Ghanaian winger, who recently came back from a serious ACL injury, curled home a brilliant effort from outside the box in the 77th minute to restore Leicester’s lead after Swansea had equalised from the spot.
The strike was his third league goal of the season, along with one assist, as he grows in confidence with every game.
Moments after scoring, Fatawu nearly doubled his tally with an audacious long-range attempt that struck the crossbar from nearly 50 yards.
Jordan James and Jannik Vestergaard were also on target as the Foxes secured their first victory since August, ending a run of four straight draws to climb to third on the table.
Swansea’s Adam Idah netted their only goal from the penalty spot.
Fatawu’s latest performance comes at a crucial time as he joins Ghana’s 24-man squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against the Central African Republic and Comoros on October 4 and 8 respectively.
